VERY FIRE 350901 IJN TAIHO (A/C CARRIER JAPAN) "BATTLE OF THE PHILIPPINE SEA"
1/350 SCALE
DESCRIPTION:
The Japanese Navy aircraft carrier Taiho was the first Japanese aircraft carrier to be built as an armored aircraft carrier with armor on the flight deck.
Since June 18, 1944, he has participated in the Battle of the Philippine Sea as the flagship of the Ozawa MTF.
On June 19, 1944, when the U.S. Navy MTF was discovered, Taiho was attacked by the U.S. Navy Gato-class submarine Albacore, which was chasing the fleet when it had finished launching the attack fleet.
Six torpedoes fired from Albacore hit the front starboard side, and the front part sank a little, but water was injected into the rear port side and the battle is recovering to a state where it can continue.
However, gasoline is leaking from the vicinity of the lightning strike, and the vaporized gasoline fills the inside of the ship.
It was the last time that the vaporized gasoline ignited without desperate ventilation work, causing a big explosion and sinking.
