ATLANTIS MODELS 1160 CHESAPEAKE BAY SKIPJACK OYSTER BOAT "CARRIE PRICE"
1/60 SCALE
DESCRIPTION:
Skipjack is a traditional boat and fishing boat used in the oyster fishing that was popular in the Chesapeake Bay in northern Maryland.
Until 1942, the use of power boats was prohibited for oyster fishing in the Chesapeake Bay, so the Skipjack sailing boat was the main fishing boat.
The skip jack is equipped with one main mast, a head sail in front of the mast, and a main sail in the rear.
The hull is made of wood and its birth dates back to the end of the 19th century.
Although oyster fishing in the Chesapeake Bay has shrunk and Skipjack's have been reduced, some are still preserved as historic boats.
FEATURES:
A plastic model assembly kit that reproduces Skipjack, a fishing boat that was active in oyster fishing in the Chesapeake Bay on a 1/502 scale.
The number of parts is 55 and the finished length is about 300mm.
The characteristic appearance of that one mast is firmly modeled.
This kit is a re-release of the kit released by Pyro in 1958 by the Atlantis model.
A full hull model that reproduces the bottom of the ship.
The position keel parts on the bottom of the ship are also reproduced.
In addition, the details of the deck such as the deck hatch and the position cabin, and the reproduction of the equipment will be enhanced.
A small boat equipped at the rear of the ship is also modeled.
In addition, the sail is modeled in the grated state.
A thread for rigging is also available to enhance the finish of the sailing ship model.
I'm looking forward to rigging with reference to the instruction manual.
The model comes with its own stand parts.
