DRAGON MODELS LTD 7003 JMSDF (ASW SEARCH TEAM) YUSHIO vs SOVIET DELTA III CLASS SSBN 1/700 SCALE
DESCRIPTION:
The Yushio type was operated by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, which is highly regarded worldwide for its submarine construction technology, from 1980 to 2008.
SS-573 Yushio became the name ship, the first Yushio-type ship in which 10 ships were built.
Underwater displacement 2900 tons, total length 76m.
Adopting a diesel-electric engine, it demonstrated a speed of 20 knots underwater.
It was completed in 1980 and supported the protection of the Japanese sea from below the surface until it was removed from the register in 1999.
On the other hand, from 1976 to 1981, 14 ships were commissioned and operated by the Soviet nuclear submarine Delta III.
The total length is 155m and the displacement in water is 10600 tons. It was equipped with 16 D-9R missile launch tubes.
It was deployed in the Northern Fleet and the Pacific Fleet, respectively, and was showing its appearance in the waters near Japan.
FEATURES:
The model is a set of plastic model assembly kits that reproduce the two submarines Yushio and the Soviet nuclear submarine Delta III class operated by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force on a 1/700 scale.
The total length of Yushio is about 10 cm, while Delta III is about 22 cm, which is almost double. The difference in size will be interesting to assemble.
Both hulls are divided into upper and lower parts, and the shape unique to submarines is firmly reproduced.
The number of parts is small and it is easy to assemble.
Since it is a 2-ship set of 1/700 scale kit with a reasonable finished size, it is attractive to make and compare.
The details of the hull surface and the appearance of the screws, rudder, etc. are reproduced with a real feeling.
In addition, the bridge also firmly expresses details such as the periscope.
This kit also includes the Maritime Self-Defense Force of the same scale, one P-3C Orion and two HSS-2B seeking helicopters.
I'm looking forward to comparing the two large and small rivals.
